Vienna 2008 A Great Success
The 2008 Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Vienna April 15-17 was a great success attracting over 800 delegates. Paul Calello, Chief Executive Officer, Investment Bank, Credit Suisse, opened the event by delivering a keynote address in which he praised the role ISDA has played in the industry.

ISDA Publishes Year-End 2007 Market Survey
ISDA unveiled the results of its year-end 2007 Market Survey of privately negotiated derivatives at its 23rd Annual General Meeting in Vienna. The notional amount outstanding of credit default swaps (CDS) grew 37 percent to $62.2 trillion in the second half of 2007 from $45.5 trillion at mid-year. CDS notional growth for the whole of 2007 was 81 percent from $34.5 trillion at year-end 2006. The survey monitors credit default swaps on single names and obligations, baskets and portfolios of credits and index trades.

Adds Senior Counsel, Asia, NY Counsel
Jacqueline Mei Lin Low has joined ISDA’s growing legal team.
Ms Low is based in Singapore and will report to David Geen,
ISDA General Counsel based in London. Ms Low’s responsibilities
will cover legal and documentation matters and coordination
with colleagues on regulatory issues in the Asian Region
focusing on South Asia. Ms Low brings to ISDA a unique blend
of expertise in diverse areas of the law, regulatory compliance
and tax. She has a specialist knowledge of Asian emerging
markets and is recognized in the industry as an expert in
derivatives.
