ISDA ANNOUNCES DERIVATIVES
AND RISK MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE IN MEXICO – MAY 7 – 8, 2001

YORK, Monday, April 30,
2001 – ISDA is conducting a two-day conference on Derivatives and Risk
Management in Mexico
sponsored by Banco de Mexico, Nacional
Financiera, Asociacion de Banqueros de Mexico and MexDer. The conference will be held at the Nacional Financiera Auditorium in
Mexico City on
Monday, May 7, 2001 and Tuesday, May 8, 2001. The agenda for the full

The conference will provide regulators, corporate and
financial industry executives in Mexico and the region with in-depth
and practical information on the benefits of derivatives activity, focusing on
risk management, documentation development, public policy issues and challenges
facing market professionals. Conference presentations will include discussions
of regulatory developments including the business impact and netting benefits
of the new bankruptcy law, credit risk mitigation and market risk management,
financial innovation and developing products, and accounting and tax treatment.
Leaders in government, finance, and the legal profession
will participate in the program.
Speakers include Guillermo Guemez-Garcia,
Deputy Governor, Banco de Mexico, Mario
Laborin, General Director, Nacional Financiera, Federico
Patino, Deputy General Director, Nacional Financiera, and Hector
Rangel, President, Mexican Bankers Asociacion. Luncheon speakers include Jonathan
Davis, President of the National Banking and Securities Commission and Agustin
Carstens, Undersecretary for the Ministry of
Finance.
