About the Job
This role is in the Market Infrastructure and Technology (‘MIT’) Product Team within ISDA. The MIT function is responsible for supporting ISDA members and addressing challenges related to market structure, trading and the processing of derivatives transactions across multiple asset classes, including Rates, Credit, Equity, FX and Commodities. The function also supports the industry’s efforts to increase processing efficiency through development of standards and best practices while helping to identify the opportunities created by emerging technology. This role will have a primary focus on supporting the ISDA membership to address post-trade processing issues, including development and implementation of new/changes to the suite of ISDA product definitions as well as developing industry solutions to specific processing challenges across the asset classes.
Duties and responsibilities
Lead industry working group calls and meetings to address issues affecting the post-trade processing of derivatives (Market Infrastructure Groups) in multiple asset classes, facilitating calls/meetings, and setting up targeted sub-groups to analyze and define specific challenges and identify potential solutions,
Assist on supporting business strategy/market structure working groups (Steering Committees) in multiple asset classes,
Provide input and assistance on development of new (or changes to existing) product ISDA Definitions and related Confirmation templates,
Maintain existing ISDA infrastructure within each asset class (such as Floating Rate Options, Settlement Rate Options, the ISDA Settlement Matrix etc.),
Develop and maintain strong member relationships, particularly with industry subject matter experts and vendors/solution providers, and leverage these to successfully execute on duties described above,
Work to keep the membership on the various asset class working group up-to date and current, including identifying lead representatives, co-chairs and new members.
Liaise with and support colleagues in other functional areas to provide product and process SME,
Assist with ongoing validation and development of the ISDA CDM,
Ensure appropriate updates and summaries of ISDA’s work and delivery of initiatives are communicated concisely to management and ISDA’s senior staff as necessary,
Represent ISDA at industry meetings and speak at ISDA conferences, working collaboratively with ISDA’s membership department as required to help increase and educate the membership and deliver ISDA’s objectives.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is essential.
Good derivatives and ISDA product definitions knowledge ideally across multiple asset classes is essential.

Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to lead calls/meetings with many participants, address issues with tact and diplomacy in order to reach consensus across a wide range of market participants,
Ability to interact, communicate and develop relationships with individuals at different levels of seniority at member firms,
Detail-oriented in composing, drafting and proofing materials,
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and identity new issues and solutions,
Strong work ethic which demonstrates an appreciation for deadlines and a desire to go the extra mile to achieve results,
Ability to deal with change,
Good working knowledge of MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Previous experience of Microsoft Project or similar project management applications desirable,
Team-player who contributes to success of the immediate team and ISDA as a whole.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a derivatives environment is preferred, ideally in operations or middle office.
