To raise ISDA’s profile in the market and achieve financial growth through increasing sponsorship and exhibitors at ISDA conferences and events:
Responsible for supporting growth of the commercial function focused on sponsorship and exhibitor support across the global organisation.
Responsible for executing a long-term strategy to generate revenue by maintaining current sponsor and exhibitor relationships and identifying and securing new opportunities.
To build and maintain close business relationships with existing and potential sponsors/exhibitors, negotiate and close business deals and maximize revenues for ISDA.
Contribute to marketing of ISDA events.
Duties and responsibilities
Develop Sponsorship and Exhibitors:
Assist with development of prospecting function at ISDA with primary focus on increasing sponsorship and exhibitors at ISDA conferences and events.
Assist with development of ISDA offering in terms of packages and pricing structures available.
Work closely with current sponsors and exhibitors and look to maintain current relationships where this makes business sense.
Draft proposals and secure agreements with sponsors and exhibitors.
Work closely with membership and other ISDA departments to coordinate on relationship management.
New Prospects Development:
Prospect for potential new sponsorship and exhibitors.
Research and build relationships with new potential sponsors and exhibitors.
Set up meetings between sponsorship/ exhibitors and ISDA.
Plan approaches and pitches, develop proposals that speak to the needs, concerns and objectives of the customer.
Develop appropriate marketing material to support pitches.
Cold call as appropriate within the market to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
Develop strong internal relationships across the global organization.
Build strong relationships externally with current and prospective sponsors and exhibitors.
Attend industry functions such as association events and conferences to network and develop contacts.
Help develop strategy to market and publicize events and drive attendance.
Management and Research:
Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met.
Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
Work closely with conferences team to ensure coordination on timing and requirements.
Attend industry functions such as events and conferences to provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
Ensure broad coverage and fairness in choosing prospective sponsors and exhibitors relevant to the conference topics.
Prepare and deliver high-quality communications for prospective sponsors and exhibitors, as well as the internal senior management team.
Attend ISDA events and work closely with the conferences and communications teams to drive attendance to raise ISDA’s profile.
Bachelor’s degree in any speciality is desirable.
Knowledge of the financial markets and an understanding of the customer base and its needs is desirable.
Experience in leading organisation or company wide projects or initiatives desirable.
Experience of working globally desireable.
Must possess strong communication and writing skills, be extremely organized, detail-oriented and demonstrate initiative.
Must have the ability to interact with senior level executives and leaders from various financial, legal and government related organizations.
Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Relevant Skills / Abilities
Understanding of financial markets (knowledge of derivatives market is preferable but not essential).
Ability to travel internationally regularly.
Good business sense, a deep understanding of marketing principles, good communication and negotiation skills, a positive attitude and initiative.
Networking, prospecting, public speaking, research, writing, closing skills, sales planning.
Identifying sponsorship and exhibitor needs and challenges.
Minimum of 2 years of sales and marketing experience
