Our derivatives transactional and advisory practice, led by partners partners Éamon Ó Cuív and Fergus Gillen, involves advising buy and sell side market participants and market infrastructure providers on trading, collateral, clearing, settlement, custody and the regulatory environment in which it takes place.  That practice is complemented by our role as counsel to ISDA in respect of the legal opinions made available by it to its members as to matters of Irish law.

We are proud of our close working relationship with ISDA, which has included work on its recent EU law documentation initiative, resulting in publication of an Irish law version of the ISDA 2002 Master Agreement (launched by ISDA at our Dublin office on 3 July 2018), followed by Irish law regulatory and non-regulatory variation margin, and regulatory initial margin, documentation, all supported by legal opinions issued by the firm.  The firm has also worked with ISDA on arbitration provisions for inclusion in the 2018 Arbitration Guide and is delighted to continue to work with ISDA on its documentation initiatives.
