ISDA has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) agent for its Digital Regulatory Reporting (DRR) solution that will bring greater transparency to users by tracing the rules and decisions that have guided the development of the DRR.
The ISDA DRR Tracer Agent will allow users to look back at the history of DRR decision-making to understand when and why coding choices were made. The ISDA DRR has been developed within a governance structure that establishes a golden-source interpretation of each covered rule set, reviewed and agreed by an industry committee. By extracting information from ISDA working group discussions and documentation, the agent provides a searchable and auditable record that allows users to map DRR interpretative decisions back to the regulatory reporting requirements. The DRR Tracer Agent is accessible to anyone with an ISDA account, with ISDA members able to access relevant working group meeting minutes.
The ISDA DRR uses the open-source Common Domain Model (CDM) to transform the golden-source interpretation of regulatory reporting rules into machine-executable code, making implementation more efficient and cost effective. The ISDA DRR has been applied to nine reporting regimes globally and ISDA has committed to supporting 14 reporting rule sets in nine jurisdictions.
ISDA appointed Gentek AI to help develop the DRR Tracer Agent following a request for quote process.
“Transparency and auditability are essential to the success of regulatory reporting. The ISDA DRR Tracer Agent gives firms clear visibility into how the rules were interpreted and coding decisions were made, strengthening confidence in compliance with regulatory reporting requirements. This is an important enhancement to the ISDA DRR and another step towards more consistent, accurate and efficient reporting across jurisdictions,” said Scott O’Malia, ISDA’s Chief Executive.
“The DRR code tells you what a rule does; the DRR Tracer Agent tells you why. Reporting rules never stand still, and neither does the industry’s view of how to apply them. The agent uses AI to help anyone follow the reasoning behind DRR code changes, not just the people who were in the room. That makes the ISDA DRR easier to adopt and rely on, and it’s exactly the kind of problem Gentek was built to solve,” said Pierre Khemdoudi, CEO and Founder of Gentek.ai.
