ISDA has been awarded Outstanding Contribution to Regulatory Reforms for the ISDA Digital Regulatory Reporting (ISDA DRR) solution by Regulation Asia at its ninth annual Awards for Excellence.
The ISDA DRR uses the Common Domain Model to convert an industry-agreed golden-source interpretation of derivatives reporting rules into machine-executable code, helping firms cut costs, improve data quality and adapt quickly as rules change. The ISDA DRR has been applied to nine reporting regimes globally and ISDA is committed to supporting 14 reporting regimes across nine jurisdictions.
Over the awards review period, ISDA extended the DRR to cover Hong Kong’s revised reporting rules ahead of the September 2025 compliance date and integrated new functionality powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to further improve the accuracy, transparency and consistency of the ISDA DRR. In October, ISDA launched a DRR Tracer Agent that gives users visibility on the industry discussions and decisions that influenced the coding of reporting rules. Other AI agents will follow later this year and in 2027, including a Translator Agent that will help convert new or updated reporting requirements into DRR code.
“ISDA’s Digital Regulatory Reporting replaces firm-by-firm interpretation with industry-agreed, machine-executable code that firms and supervisors can use free of charge. Production code was ready ahead of every Asia-Pacific compliance date. That is structural reform,” said the Regulation Asia Awards Committee.
“Over the past 12 months, we’ve extended the DRR to cover additional reporting rules, welcomed new adopters and begun using AI to make the solution more transparent and quicker to update. As reporting regimes continue to evolve in Asia Pacific and globally, we’re using AI to stay ahead of those changes, so firms can implement new rules faster and with greater confidence,” said Scott O’Malia, ISDA’s Chief Executive.
ISDA also won GlobalCapital’s award for Digital Solution of the Year for the ISDA DRR and ISDA Notices Hub earlier this year.
