10:30 AM Charting its Own Course

The UK’s Wholesale Markets Review has set out a number of proposed changes to UK regulation, with the aim of tailoring rules to the circumstances of the UK and removing requirements that limit the ability of investors to access the most liquid pools of capital. What will the proposed changes mean for capital markets and derivatives in the UK?

11:10 AM Networking Break

11:30 AM The Future for Clearing

The European Commission has been meeting with market participants to determine how EU exposure to UK central counterparties can be reduced ahead of the end of a temporary equivalence determination in mid-2022What challenges does this pose, and how do market participants and policy-makers propose to address them?

12:30 PM Lunch and Networking Break

1:10 PM Chairman Remarks

1:20 PM Approaching the Finishing Line

With a matter of weeks until 30 LIBOR settings either cease or become non-representative, what’s left for market participants to do? To what extent have firms adopted alternative benchmarks, and how have institutions dealt with legacy LIBOR exposures? What exactly will happen on January 3, 2022, and how important will fallbacks ultimately be?

2:05 PM Keynote Address

A senior European policy-maker will outline forthcoming EU regulatory priorities.

2:25 PM Fixing Regulatory Reporting

Regulatory reporting requirements have been hampered by a lack of consistency in standards and data fields. How can this be addressed? How are regulators in Europe and elsewhere responding, and how can ISDA’s digital regulatory reporting initiative help?

3:00 PM Networking Break

3:20 PM Standardize and Digitize

ISDA’s first natively digital definitions – the 2021 ISDA Interest Rate Derivatives Definitions – will come into effect in early October. What impact will this have on the interest rate derivatives market, and what’s the next step in the shift to digital legal documents and definitions for derivatives? What is needed to fully automate the derivatives trade lifecycle?

4:00 PM Building a Sustainable Economy

With the COP26 summit likely to result in new climate commitments, the importance of sustainable finance and ESG-linked investments and derivatives will continue to increase. How are regulations in the EU and UK adapting in response and what industry initiatives are under way to document, standardize and support this market? What progress is being made in modelling climate risk?
